No neighbor should face a holiday — or a hard week — alone.

Rabbi Zalman & Frumie Drizin have been bringing southern Brooklyn together — community events and holiday celebrations, and hands-on charity for neighbors who need it: holiday kits and food brought to homes, a place at the Shabbat table for anyone who would otherwise be alone, and help for families in hard times. No membership. No background required. Just an open door — and partners who make it possible.

Every gift is receipted and tax-deductible. 501(c)(3) nonprofit · Legal name: Chabad of Kings Highway · EIN 20-3796488 · Gifts support Chabad's events and charity work only.

What a gift actually does

This is where your money goes — not to an office, not to a building fund in the abstract, but to a person, this week, here in the neighborhood.

A place at the table

A student far from home, a senior living alone, a newcomer who knows no one — Shabbat comes, and instead of eating alone they are at a full table, with candles lit and a meal in front of them. Your gift sets that table.

Help at the door

Before every holiday, kits and food are brought directly to homes — quietly, with dignity, to families carrying a hard week or a hard year. No forms, no waiting rooms. Your gift fills those kits.

A listening ear, at 11 p.m.

A mezuzah affixed, a pair of tefillin wrapped, a hospital visit, a family accompanied through a hard week — thousands of quiet, personal moments, year after year. Your gift keeps the door open for the next one.

What your partnership makes happen

Nothing here is funded by membership dues. Every program below exists because partners like you choose to give.

Shabbat comes every week. So does the need.

There is no membership income and no endowment behind this work — there is this week's table, this holiday's kits, this family's hard month. A monthly partnership is what turns a one-time kindness into something a neighbor can count on.

Shluchim of the Rebbe, neighbors to everyone

Rabbi Zalman and Frumie Drizin came to Kings Highway as the Rebbe's shluchim with a simple mandate: reach every Jewish soul in the neighborhood and be there for them. Today, that mandate runs a full calendar of classes, Shabbat tables, holiday celebrations for the whole community, and thousands of quiet, personal moments — a mezuzah affixed, a pair of tefillin wrapped, a family accompanied through a hard week.

Rabbi Drizin also serves as rabbi of Beth El Jewish Center of Flatbush, the shul at 1219 Avenue T, where the community gathers for prayer services. His weekly parashah shiur and short video teachings reach far beyond Brooklyn at rabbidrizin.com.

Two institutions — and complete clarity about your gift. Beth El Jewish Center of Flatbush, the shul at 1219 Avenue T, is a separate institution. Chabad of Kings Highway & Homecrest is Rabbi Drizin's own organization. Every dollar given on this page goes to Chabad of Kings Highway & Homecrest — and nowhere else.

Torah that reaches thousands — and a rabbi who answers

Every week, Rabbi Drizin's shiurim and one-minute teachings at rabbidrizin.com reach thousands of viewers far beyond Brooklyn — and many of them reach back, privately, with questions of their own.

rabbidrizin.com — the Rabbi's shiurim site

The weekly parashah shiur, short one-minute teachings, and a growing archive of Torah classes — free, online, and watched by thousands. It is Rabbi Drizin's personal teaching site, separate from this one: no donations are taken there; it exists purely to spread Torah.

Questions about Yiddishkeit? Reach out privately

Viewers of the shiurim regularly write to Rabbi Drizin privately for guidance in Yiddishkeit — a halachic question, a family matter, a first step toward mitzvos, or simply a listening ear. Every message is answered personally and held in confidence.

Partner with Chabad

Chabad of Kings Highway & Homecrest has no membership dues and no one is ever turned away. The classes, the Shabbat tables, the holiday programs, and the quiet personal help are carried entirely by partners who give — once, or month after month.

Choose an amount and a fund, dedicate it in honor or in memory of someone dear, and complete your gift by Zelle, Cash App, credit card, or check. Every gift receives a receipt.

The need is this week, not someday. Shabbat is coming, a holiday kit needs packing, a family is waiting on help. A gift made today is at work within days — and a monthly gift means the next call for help is answered, too.

What it funds is the work above: the events that gather the community, and the charity that reaches families at home — not prayer services, which are the shul's own function.

Considering a larger commitment? See sponsorships, naming & major gifts below — every major gift begins with a personal conversation with Rabbi Drizin.

  • $18 puts Shabbat candles, challah, and a holiday kit into a neighbor's home
  • $180 sponsors a week of Torah classes, in person and on Zoom
  • $1,800 carries a month of holiday celebrations and family outreach
  • $18,000 underwrites a full year of holiday celebrations, kits, and meals for the whole community

Questions donors ask

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes. Chabad of Kings Highway is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, EIN 20-3796488. A receipt is issued for every gift, for your tax records.

Does my gift go to the synagogue?

No. Beth El Jewish Center of Flatbush is a separate institution, where Rabbi Drizin serves as rabbi. Gifts made here go only to Chabad of Kings Highway & Homecrest, his own organization, and fund its classes, programs, and outreach.

Can I give monthly?

Yes — monthly partners are the backbone of our budget. Choose “Monthly partner” in the form above and send your gift each month by Zelle, Cash App, or credit card, or email us and we will set it up with you.

Can I dedicate a gift?

Yes — in honor of, in memory of, or for the refuah shleimah of a loved one. Add the name in the form, or simply note it with your Zelle, Cash App, or credit-card gift.

How else can I help?

Host a Shabbat guest, sponsor a program, volunteer, or introduce us to someone who should know this work. Call 718-998-5394 or email chabadkh@aol.com — a person answers, not a system.

Can I give through a foundation, donor-advised fund, wire, or stock?

Yes. Make the gift to our legal name, Chabad of Kings Highway, EIN 20-3796488. Call 718-998-5394 and Rabbi Drizin will arrange the details with you personally — including wire or stock instructions — and confirm receipt.

I am considering a major gift. How do we begin?

With a conversation. Call Rabbi Drizin at 718-998-5394 — personally and in confidence. You can direct a major gift to a specific program or purpose, name a program or initiative in honor or in memory of a loved one, and every restricted gift is honored for the purpose you chose.

Will I be recognized — or can I give anonymously?

Either way, as you prefer. Sponsors are thanked publicly only with their permission, anonymous gifts stay anonymous, and every gift — named or not — receives a receipt for your records.

Can I visit or join a class?

Absolutely — you are welcome, whatever your background. Prayer services are held at the shul, Beth El Jewish Center of Flatbush, 1219 Avenue T in Brooklyn. For Chabad events and classes, call or email ahead and we will be glad to welcome you and share the current schedule.
